Meet Isabella Wood

My Approach

I am a compassionate and collaborative professional, dedicated to helping others reduce and challenge their negative cognitions. I also work as a School Counselor, specializing in supporting the Special Education population. Using a trauma-informed approach, I integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques to help my clients build emotional resilience and achieve personal growth. I hold a Master’s degree in School Counseling and am currently pursuing an Advanced Certificate in Licensed Mental Health Counseling at Alfred University.

In my work within schools, I have witnessed the significant need for counseling services outside of the school setting to support children and their families. I am committed to helping them overcome past trauma and prevent those experiences from leading to negative consequences in their lives.

I am passionate about providing a safe, supportive space for clients to explore their emotions, build resilience, and create positive change. I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey toward healing and growth.

I am passionate about supporting individuals impacted by foster care and adoption. I lead with a trauma-informed approach and work with the whole family on their healing journey. To enhance my expertise, I completed the 30-hour National Adoption Competency Mental Health Training (NTI). This training equips me to address the complex mental health needs of children in foster care, adoption, or kinship care. It provides essential knowledge and skills to assess needs, develop effective treatment plans, and support family stability. I apply this training to ensure my clients receive the best possible care.
