Since childhood, I have felt a calling to help others. Growing up with a younger brother with special needs, I witnessed therapists and teachers come to our home to help him develop skills and grow. I was so inspired by their work that I would sit in on their sessions and emulate their strategies when playing with him. This early exposure sparked my passion for making a difference in the lives of others.
Throughout high school and college, I worked in various after-school and summer camp programs for individuals with special needs. These experiences solidified my desire to pursue a career in psychology. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, followed by a Master’s degree in School Psychology. For the past 10 years, I have worked in school settings, supporting children and teens facing a range of academic, emotional, and behavioral challenges. My expertise includes helping students develop social skills, enhance self-awareness, and build self-confidence. Additionally, I have extensive experience in assessing and addressing academic and behavioral issues through tailored interventions. I have also undergone extensive training in interventions for school avoidance, helping students and families address and overcome barriers to regular school attendance.
In recent years, I have observed an increasing demand for mental health services for children and families. This inspired me to further my education and pursue licensure as a mental health counselor. My goal is to provide comprehensive mental health support to individuals and families, drawing on my years of experience and dedication to this field.
Beyond my work with school-aged children, I am deeply passionate about assisting adults, particularly those with special needs, as they transition to college or the workforce. I have seen firsthand the unique challenges neurodiverse individuals face during this critical period and recognize the gap in support services once they age out of school. I am excited to apply my professional expertise and personal experiences to help individuals and families navigate these transitions, achieve their goals, foster self-advocacy and confidence, and attain greater independence.
